Mechanat of venice (Act 4 Scene 1)

Trail Scene- Shylock aims to take his forfeiture from Antonio.

Antonio's friends and even the duke begged Shylock for mercy but he denied.

Bassanio offers six thousand Ducats to Shylock but he refuses to accept .

Portia enters the scene dressed as a lawyer and makes a moving appeal to Shylock for mercy , but Shylock was determined to have his bond only . After examining the bond Portia permits Shylock to cut a pound of flesh from Antonio's body , As Shylock was about to do so , Portia orders him to keep a Surgeon at hand , but Shylock refuses as the bond stipulates no such safeguard.

As Shylock proceeded to cut a pound of flesh from Antonio's Body ,Portia reminds him that the bond only tells about a pound of flesh and not a single drop of blood .

This was like a bolt from the blue for Shylock ,he at once became ready to accept three times the amount and let Antonio go.

Portia declares that Shylock will only have the bond and nothing else and also adds that in case even a drop of Antonio's blood spills , all the property of the Jew all his land and goods will be confiscated by the state of Venice  for harming a Venetian citizen.

The same law now demands Shylock to hand over half his property to Antonio and the remaining half will be confiscated by the State of Venice.

The Duke shows mercy by sparing Shylock's life and half of his property . The remaining half that is Antonio's share was kept for Lorenzo and Jessica.

As a token of gratitude Bassanio on request of Antonio hands over the ring given by Portia to the Lawyer and Gratiano also gives his ring to the clerk that is Nerrisa in disguise.

Finally , Antonio , Gratiano and Bassanio leaves for Belmont.

It is making everyone lazy. On the other hand , cyber crimes are also growing . The key word for this is caution.  We must make judicious use of technology and should not completely depend on it. These devices are not good for our brain, eyes ,ears and our overall health. We must believe in natural and simple living.
