Present Tenses (CBSE,ICSE)

Tenses are used to indicate time. There are three types of Tenses Present Tense- Talks about the Present Times Past Tense - Talks about the Present Times Future tense- Talks about the Future Times. The Present Tense is further classified into following four types Present Simple Tense or Present Indefinite Tense Mohan goes to school regularly. My father reads newspaper every morning. Subject verb agreement or syntax CBSE,ICSE

  In a Sentence the verb agrees with the subject in number and person is known as the subject Verb agreement. Bread  and  butter, rice and curry, rice and fish , hammer and sickle ,slow and steady, truth and honesty , horse and carriage, crown and glory, rise and fall , coming and going , screaming and shouting, age and experience, eggs and bacon, long and short, bag and baggage- pair words expresses one thing or idea. A letter to God

  Being a farmer, Lencho was completely dependent upon the crops of his field.  Lencho was a hardworking, simple farmer. He had sown a field of com and was waiting for rains. His joy knew no bounds when it started raining. However,   rain appeared  but  ruined his crop.  Even there was not a single flower left on the plants. In the entire village there was no one to help him in the lurch.  Lencho’s heart was filled with sorrow. But  he had firm belief in God. He wrote a letter to God, asking him to send 100 pesos so that he could sow his field again. He dropped ‘ the letter in the mail. As soon as the postmaster received and read the letter written by Lencho to God, he expressed “I wish I had the faith of the man who wrote this letter.” The postmaster read the letter addressed to ‘God’ and to preserve the man’s faith in God, The postmaster needed something more than ink and paper to answer the letter. Dover Beach by Mathew Arnold (ISE English Literature)

 Dover Beach by Mathew Arnold unveils a conflict between religion and science. The poet depicts a loss of faith in modern world and its ill effects. The poet victimised despair , hopelessness and frustration of the people to be the cause behind the loss of faith. In the world of declining faith, people lead a life of doubts ,confusions and uncertainties. The poet looks through the window of the house on a shingled beach at Dover , England in moonlight .He gave a vivid description of the calm sea . Although the moon is shining fairly, the light of the French  coast is becoming dimmer . The sea provides the setting of the whole poem .and as the poem advances it becomes the symbol of eternal human misery . It is used as a symbol of faith .
